CJS and RAM

Creative Journey Studios supports RAM, the Racine Art Museum, one of the first art museums to give polymer the respect we think it deserves.  In October, 2011, the museum opened an amazing exhibit entitled “Terra Nova: Polymer Art at the Crossroads”.  We’d like to direct you to their excellent website (http://www.ramart.org/terra-nova) to read more about this wonderful collection.  They have published a first rate book about the art with the help of Dever Designs. We now have the book for sale for $35 in the gallery and all the proceeds will go to RAM.  It can also be purchased directly from the museum:
(http://www.ramart.org/shop/exhibition-catalogs)  It's a "must have" for your polymer library and I am certain our supply will go quickly, so don't delay. We will also donate a percentage of gallery sales to the polymer acquisition fund set up by the museum.

We were fortunate enough to be able to attend the Symposium called Polymer: The Journey to New Terrain, which was held by the Johnson Foundation at Wingspread (a 30's Frank Lloyd Wright house). The symposium consisted of sessions on the polymer field so far, the arrival of polymer in museums, and the future of polymer. Numerous familiar polymer artists and several of the museum curators were on panels discussing the medium and the Polymer Collection Project.  We shared meals and conversation with different combinations of groups over the course of the weekend. To get to spend time with these groups was an amazing experience. The weekend culminated with the opening at the museum. It was a wonderful, magical experience.

We hope you can make it to Racine to see the exhibit, and hope you will join us in supporting the efforts of this unique museum.
